MindCarmel: The Mount of Hope
Well-being for all
The human-mind is the seat of emotions, feelings and thoughts. The healthier the mind, the happier is the man. When the mind suffers, it affects the body badly. It is always a challenge to keep up the harmony between mind and body. Today’s challenges are various, which can lead one faster to a distorted, pressurised and depressed state of mind. The troubles caused by the Covid-19 pandemic through the social distancing and other related conditions have in particular affected the mental health of many people. Hence, it is essential to find out a recipe to cope up with the growing challenges of the time, to sustain a sturdy mindset. Taking into consideration the need for a greater care for the mind, we, the Carmelites of Manjummel Province, come forward with a new venture called “Mind Carmel”. This new endeavour has resource persons, who are Fathers of our Province and who have made notable qualitifications and training in psychological guidance and counseling from different universities of the world. This new initiative “Mind Carmel” offers Counseling for promoting well-being, alleviating stress anxiety and distress, assistance to resolve pressing life-challenges and problems, remission of psychological illnesses and providing spiritual guidance.
Our Logo
The logo of mindcarmel.com is brings together two central aspects of this ministry, namely the Carmelite Identity of its members and the Psycho-spiritual services they render.
At the center of the logo is seen a floating feather which represents the human mind. A feather could be carried away even by a gentle wind and could land anywhere. So also the human mind can be disturbed and carried away even by the slightest problems in life. A person who loses one’s coping skills in a stressful situation is a like a feather floating in the air, with no control over its movements. And here is the importance of the caring hand, seen beneath the feather. Grabbing a floating feather may look like a very easy task. But, if not focused, the feather may swing in the air and tilt away from the hand. We need much care, full focus and flexibility in order to let the feather fall into the palm. Thus, the hand represents our psycho-spiritual ministry, which has the goal of providing caring hand to the needy.
These symbols are placed within the short version of our Carmelite emblem, to remind ourselves and others of the tradition to which we belong. The logo is engulfed in green color, which is Nature's color and is restful, soothing, cheerful, and health-giving.
